Chocolate Pudding Chocolate Pudding
creamy, decadent pudding that hits all the right chocolate notes


Time: 4hr 20min (prep: 5min / inactive: 4hr (including cooling time) / bake: 15min)
Makes: 6 cups


2cup whole milk (divided)
1/2cup granulated sugar
1/3cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4tsp cornstarch
3egg yolks
2tsp vanilla extract
1/4tsp salt
1 1/2cup whipped cream


1. Combine 1 1/2 cup milk (reserve 1/2 cup), sugar and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat
2. In a separate bowl, whisk the reserved milk, cornstarch, yolks, vanilla, and salt. Continue whisking as you slowly add the hot mixture
3. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and, stirring constantly, cook over medium-high heat until pudding comes to a boil. Reduce to simmer and continue whisking for an additional 2-3min
4. Divide into 6 equal portions in serving cups, cover in plastic, and refrigerate for 4hr minimum
5. Serve topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cocoa powder
